Best Vintage Clothing Store in France? Et vois la (online)!

Is the best vintage clothing store in France located in Brittany? Well, the Bretons are proud of their Celtic culture, their Pork, and their Cider, so why not their vintage clothing stores!

Few and far between within the isolated towns, surrounded by the vast Breton countryside to traverse, locating one of the (very) few hidden gems of vintage fashion proves an experience in itself. Therefore, allow me to be the guiding light to your journey, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow  - keeping in the Celtic theme here!

Allow me to introduce my style to you a bit more: everything! Well, not quite, but like your voyage through the Breton countryside, my collection of vintage clothing transcends many eras from early 1900 to 2000 hand made to high end designer, the formal to the funky, the classic heritage to the new age rebel. My collection represents any mood you may find yourself in, after all fashion’s purpose is to amplify your desired posture and captivate the wandering eyes of the room. Silk scarf? Don’t you look so chique! Harris Tweed jacket? Oh, you distinguished countryside gentlemen! Leather jacket? Oh no darling, not just any old leather jacket.

My experience spanning over twenty years in the fashion and music industry of the UK as a hair and makeup artist has exposed me to it all in terms of fashion, The good, the bad, the ugly – Jeggings…oh mon Dieu! The smart, the stylish, the striking – shoulder pads…now we’re talking! The wardrobe staple to the first impression maker, I have an eye for all of the above, apart from jeggings. To the confines of fashion hell, they must remain.

On the other hand, these Original 1970s stack heel/sole soft leather, suede and patented leather lightning bolt patterned boots paired with bell bottomed flared miss sixty jeans make for a showstopping outfit! These two pieces can be used for a causal evening entertaining guests, a day out around the town, or for a night out in a bar or club. I would recommend pairing with a white vest and velvet jacket or dare to do double denim!

And it's not just about the girls. We have super cool designer vintage for the boys too. A selection of short jackets from well-known British designer brands, albeit with the added classic vintage edge will take your outfit from just casual, to effortlessly cool casual.

On Vintage Furniture in France – Secrets to Uncover

It all begins with an idea.

The art to sourcing interesting pieces of furniture is tricky. An even trickier task is to refresh that creativity and enhance a piece of existing furniture to make it unique. Take bar carts for instance. They are an incredible asset to your living room when entertaining guests for an apero, or to simply store your expanding collection of alcohol and spirits. However, what do you do when more of your friends start to purchase bar carts and suddenly, you are no longer in possession of something original? Well, I have the answer – the Disco Ball Bar Cart.

Attempts to improve on existing concepts can prove difficult, if it’s not broke then do not fix it. But this doesn’t mean we can’t freshen things up a bit. Take for instance this mirror ball bar, hand man by myself. Taking the concept of the bar car and old globe bars and placing a disco style upon it to give it a more lively and ready to entertain feel. Everybody loves a bar carte/drinks cabinet, I’ve just elevated it a bit with my customised mirror ball bar. A bit of fun for your Friday night apero and a sure fire talking point for your soirée!

Just an evening for one? Why not relax in style with a beautiful 1930’s French Club Chair. This classy Club Chair will transport you straight to a cosy corner of one of the gentlemen’s clubs of Paris. With almost a hundred years of history in the patina of the leather of this chair, this chair is icon of vintage furniture. Along with disco ball bar cart, you are creating a room full of mystique ready to captivate interest.

As you sit there in your club chair, bar cart close by, sipping on a well-earned cocktail after a busy week, you feel the need to create a bit more of a cosy feel to your evening. For this, why not add some ambience with this handmade, Victorian fringe lampshade.

Taking inspiration from the popularity of the shows Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey, Fringed Victorian Lampshades have seen a revival.  These lampshades are original frames which have been recovered to give a contemporary twist. The original frames maintain their Victorian-style structure, but the vibrantly coloured shades give an eye-catching appearance to brighten any corner of your room.

These items placed together would certainly create an immediate punch of interest in any room ,transforming the ordinary to the unique. Other additions to these could include some retro drinks glasses, or how about an original musical Bols Ballerina bottle to adorn your bar  to add a greater vintage aesthetic. These pieces and many more can be sourced by myself and purchased from my website. I can offer unique and creative insight into how to stage such items within a room to ensure the style and shape of the items are complemented in their own space. Please feel free to enquire personally via email or telephone stated in the home page of my website.
